My first 5K!

Back in January I decided I needed to start working out – but what to work toward? The Pittsburgh Marathon 5K was the perfect event. It was far enough away that I still had time to get into shape, yet manageable enough that I didn’t feel like I’d be struggling just to survive. Those marathon and half marathon runners man, I’m not sure how they do it! After months of hitting the gym (and the ‘dreadmill’) and many outdoor runs in Schenley Park once Pittsburgh decided to give us some spring, I successfully completed my first 5K in 31:13 :)

Up next is the Color Me Rad 5K in June! In the meantime I’ll be finishing up this semester, traveling to the UK and my home away from home, London (from May 8-May 18), and starting my last academic advising class before I graduate in July! Weeee!

It’s Been Awhile

I don’t normally update this blog since there isn’t too much to say on a regular basis. This is more of a professional blog than a personal one, so I try to keep the frivolous posts to a minimum. With that being said, I feel that a few times a year is adequate enough to do an update.

It’s the end of 2012 and what a year it’s been. I graduated from Temple University and jumped immediately into grad school with Kansas State University studying academic advising. I now live in Pittsburgh, PA and  I’m still getting used to my new city (and trying to figure out where I can get a decent hair cut on a budget!). Other than that, it’s been a quiet summer and fall of reading, writing and working toward graduating as soon as possible. Which is August 2013. I have no idea what 2013 will bring in almost any aspect (Where will we move to? When will we finally be able to get a dog?! Where will I find a job?) but if 2012 is any kind of indication of things to come, 2013 is going to be a good year :) Happy New Year and thanks for stopping by!

What’s New With Me

Once again, it’s been a while since I updated this blog. So what have I been up to?

I graduated from Temple on May 10th :)

My awesome friend Sasha and I :)

I moved to Pittsburgh, PA just a few days after that.

And yesterday, I started my academic advising classes with Kansas State University.

My summer classes are super condensed (just 8 weeks in total) so I’m going to be pretty swamped for the next 2 months!
